Revel and Safety

Safety matters to us, and it should matter to you, too. We’re focused on three important goals at Revel: encouraging responsible riding, contributing to safer streets, and making you feel more confident every time you get on a moped.

New In-App Safety Training

We worked with behavioral and transportation experts to create a new mandatory in-app safety training designed to sharpen your skills and your knowledge of the rules of the road. We’ll require all new and existing users to complete this training in order to continue riding.

Helmet Selfie

Before the start of every ride, we require both the driver and passenger to snap a photo of themselves wearing helmets and upload them in the app. Revel checks these photos for compliance and suspends users for not wearing helmets in their selfies

Suspension Policy

We’ve published our new rider accountability and suspension policy.

This policy will be applied by our Customer Experience team and by our automated alerting systems.

Automatic Alerts

We’ve implemented a system to automatically detect when a rider enters a park, travels the wrong way down a one-way street, or crosses a prohibited bridge or tunnel, which are all against Revel policy. If your ride is flagged for one of these violations (or another violation like not wearing a helmet), you may be temporarily or permanently suspended under our rider accountability policies.

Community reporting tool

We’ve developed a way for Revel users and non-users to report bad behavior through our app and websiteThis new tool is the best way to submit reports to our team, who will review each one and take action where necessary.

More Lessons

We’re expanding our lessons program by making more lessons available across all markets, including lesson locations in all four NYC boroughs where we operate, seven days a week. Our lessons are designed to help our riders get comfortable with basic techniques for operating our mopeds while promoting rider safety within the Revel community.
